Original Orange Chicken By Panda Express

Here's what you need: boneless, skinless chicken thighs, salt, white pepper, cornstarch, flour, egg, water, oil, oil, oil, chili flake, garlic, ginger, sugar, brown sugar, orange juice, white distilled vinegar, soy sauce, water, cornstarch, sesame oil

  • 2 lb boneless, skinless fowl thighs (905 g)

  1. 1 tablespoon oil
  2. ¼ teaspoon chili flake
  3. 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  4. ½ teaspoon ginger, minced
  5. ¼ cup sugar (50 g)
  6. ¼ cup brown sugar (55 g)
  7. ¼ cup orange juice (60 mL)
  8. ¼ cup white distilled vinegar (60 mL)
  9. 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  10. 2 tablespoons water
  11. 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  12. 1 teaspoon sesame oil


  1. On a reducing board, cut fowl into 1x1-inch (2x2-cm) cubes and set aside.
  2. In a medium blending bowl, combine salt, white pepper, cornstarch, and flour. Whisk to combine.
  3. Add the egg, water, and oil till it reaches the consistency of pancake batter.
  4. Add the fowl to the batter and refrigerate at the least 30 minutes.
  5. Heat oil in a wok or heavy backside pan to 350˚F (180˚C).
  6. Gently upload the fowl and prepare dinner for 5-6 minutes till calmly golden brown.
  7. Remove the fowl from the pan and move to a paper towel-lined plate.
  8. Set a heavy bottomed pot over medium- excessive warmth and upload the oil.
  9. Once the oil starts to shimmer, upload the red pepper flakes, ginger, and garlic, and prepare dinner for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.

  12. Add within the vinegar and soy sauce, and stir to combine.
  13. Add the cornstarch and water collectively and whisk to combine. Add to the pan and stir.
  14. Continue to prepare dinner the sauce till maple syrup consistency is achieved.
  15. Add within the fried fowl and stir till totally coated within the sauce.
  16. Top with sesame oil.
